Clever internet person ehgradman wanted an interesting table, so he ripped apart an IKEA table and added a MAME (Multi-Arcade-Machine-Emulator) cabinet. The resulting piece of furniture will allow you to eat brussel sprouts then play Ms. Pacman.

Let's have a Picnik!

Very rarely do I ever get turned on by something other than a beautiful woman. The few other times have been when I would see a new gadget of some sorts be announced. I remember the iMac alongside the G3! Also, won't forget my first few hours with my PS2. Those were some hardware examples, but a few software anouncements/releases that got my blood flowing was the very first time I laid eyes on the Dreamcast with Sonic the Hedgehog imported from Japan. It took a long, long time to get my mind of that. Also, I'd have to say the first time I watched QuickTime movies of Mac OS X, I almost made my keyboard look as glossy as their website design! OK, I'll stop with the erection jokes.

Finally I'm to the point of this blog entry. I have stumbled across an amazing Web 2.0/AJAX photo editing suite. It's limited in some forms, but it's so useful I don't know why I would want to live without it.

It's got it all...a simple yet it seems "just right" interface, compatible with modern browsers - NO PLUGINS NEEDED! It's extremely fast and easy to use so you could crop, sharpen, adjust colors & contrast, choose from a few simple filters (more to come), and even resize it in a matter of a minute or two.

The last part here is what made me fall in love with Picnik. Besides the fact that you have an online photo retouch suite, you can save and export to your hearts content. Any image can be accessed from your Flickr and Picassa Web accounts, uploaded from your computer, directly from a URL, through Yahoo! Image Search, and even from a web cam you have hooked into your computer. With that in mind, after you have adjusted your image, you can save back into Flickr and Picassa Web (including sets, tags, descriptions, and even image replacement), save to your computer in any of these formats: .jpg, .gif, .png, .bmp, .tif, and .pdf (while using a quality slider for the lossy compressions). There is also the option to email directly from the save screen, email to a pre-defined web site (Wal-greens, CVS, etc.), create a Picnik Slideshow for your blog (see below), or print from the desired layouts directly to your printer. All without ever leaving the site!

This online application is in beta testing, but I'm sure they would love some feedback. I really see this one going somewhere in the future.

Well, I found an amazing little site in my mind.  A few very useful tools, especially Ruler 1.2. The cool thing to me is just the fact that this guy has had problems with design issues and figures out a way to program a BOOKMARK LINK to act as a small application!!! It's great!
